Hidden Corner in Paris
August 23, 2004
:sun I read an article in today’s Metro talking about a hidden sites in Paris, and wanted to make a note of it for the next time we go.
The article says:
Many of the old train tracks in Paris have been converted into gardens. You can walk for miles along the ancient sidings, through the most gorgeous trees and plants, high above the bustle of Paris, occasionally swooping down into the tunnels. If you walk away from the Bastille Metro station along Rue de Lyon, past the Viaduc des Arts, there is a tiny staircase to your left. Go up there and suddenly you are in a different world. It feels magical and secret, almost as if you’ve gone through platform 9 and 3/4 at Kings Cross.
