:blink I can’t believe this. Overpeer (a subsiduary of Loudeye) has apparently distributed some dodgy wma files on the p2p networks. These files hijack your browser with ads amongst other things.

This tatic is just plain stupid. Overpeer have only shown that one of the main DRM formats for sale on many legitimate UK digital websites has security issues and may not be trustworthy. Even more dumb since their sister company, OD2, provides the majority of the wma files for these services.

All this action will result in is people thinking twice about when they open wma files.

Also I’m certain that Microsoft won’t be happy, after spending years and $’s promoting the format as the next big thing.
